Stone, Tree, and Sea Bag
About the Project
I found myself in need of a new daily-driver bag. My old Corduroy Star bag was beginning to put the rag tag in Rag Tag Bags.
I wanted this next bag of mine to be sporty, colorful, and encourage outdoor recreation. Simple enough. I took four pairs of old shorts that I no longer wore and harvested as much fabric as I could. The coloring and patterning of the harvested fabric gave me the idea to represent stone, tree, and sea in the form of one sick-ass shoulder bag.
I wrote a short line “Stone, Tree, and Sea mean all the world to me” to embroider onto the bag to capture the awe one finds in the natural world. The line is a double entendre and iambic pentameter, which I find to be a lot of fun.
