The Class of Goobs Yearbook
About the Project
“This here is what I call my yearbook! It’s filled with all the cool and interesting people that I’ve met on my travels and I would be so honored to get you in here too” was my usual spiel when asking somebody to sign my book.
What started out as a way to collect mementos from my friends very quickly turned into an exercise in building community and portraying the self. 221 people were asked to draw a picture of themselves, write their name, and leave a quote if they would like. Some of these people I have known for basically my entire life, others I had only just met. I treasure each and every single one.
These yearbook portraits were collected from August 2024 to March 2026. Locations range from across the entirety of the US, parts of Mexico, and parts of Canada.
Family members, lifelong friends, newly-made friends, Camino friends, the couple who picked me up for my first time hitchhiking, 4 out of 5 members of the band Peach Pit, my barber, my tattoo artists, Baltimore photographers and artists, French-Canadian car mechanics, the kind lady who runs the Big Duck gift shop in Long Island, and actor/writer/filmmaker John Waters are all some of the people who made this project possible.
Print edition coming soon! If you yourself are part of the yearbook then reach out to me to inquire about securing a copy :{)
Finally, a special thank you to my sister who made the booklet that became the yearbook <3
