The Ballad of the Dollar Bill Bar Bandit

I went on what I called “My Epilogue Trip” in December 2025 to mark the end of my traveling months before a return to “real-life”. I went down South with the birds to Florida in the van with the goal of getting to Key West and back.

I stopped in Pensacola the first night I got to Florida, and I wanted to treat myself. For dinner that night, I took my brother’s recommendation and ate at MacGuire’s Irish Pub. For those unfamiliar, it’s a dollar bill bar and it’s the most dollar bills I’ve ever seen in a dollar bill bar.

Feeling inspired, I drew short comic about a bandit who robs establishments such as these.

The story of the bandit stuck with me, so over the next few months I decided to flesh it out into a 36-page comic. I owned the entire process of writing, storyboarding, penciling, inking, lettering, coloring, scanning, risoprinting (at Baltimore Print Studios), cutting, and binding!
